Indian team is in Group A

Ganguly said, “India and Australia are the two best teams of the tournament. I am sure they will do the same in America and West Indies.” For the T20 World Cup 2024, 20 teams have been divided into 4 groups of 5 each. The top-2 teams of each group will make it to the Super-8. The Indian team is in Group A. Apart from India, this group also includes Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and America. On the other hand, Australia team is in Group B. Apart from them, England, Namibia, Scotland and Oman are also included in this group.

Ganguly praised the squad

India will play its group stage matches in the United States and begin their campaign against Ireland on June 5. After the Super Eights, the tournament will be held in the Caribbean countries. About the Indian team, Ganguly said, “This is a great team, they are all match winners. All 15 players are good enough to be selected, I am sure Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will pick the best.”

This is why Rinku did not get a place

Rinku Singh did not get a place in the 15-member Indian team selected for the T20 World Cup 2024. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said it was one of the toughest decisions taken by the committee. Ganguly said, “This is West Indies. Wickets can be slow and aid spin, so the selectors wanted to go with another spinner. Perhaps this is the reason why Rinku did not get a chance, but this is just the beginning for Rinku.
