According to the statement issued by the IPL, “This was Mumbai’s third offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct related to slow over rate offences, hence captain Hardik Pandya was fined Rs 30 lakh and banned from playing in the team’s next match. It was installed.” Apart from Hardik, the entire team has also been sentenced. All players including the impact player have been fined Rs 12 lakh each or 50 percent of the match fee (whichever is less).

Talking about the match, Lucknow Super Giants, batting first, scored 214 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians could score only 196 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma (68) and Naman Dheer (62) scored fifties.
